Jane’s role as strategic director for Magnetic Storm, sees her co-leading the company’s vision to strengthen and harness its reputation and offering on a national basis. Her passion for people development, innovation and dynamic thinking is her driving force.

Jane is a seasoned business strategist, and has successfully run a strategy and executive coaching company for more than 16 years, after which she spent two years as a Director of a leading national advertising agency before joining Magnetic Storm.

Named by CEO publication as South Africa’s most influential businesswoman in the SME sector in 2012, Jane has also been a member of the Board and EXCO of the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber.  During her tenure, she made history as the first female to be elected to an office bearer position at the Nelson Mandela Business Chamber, when she was elected Deputy President.  Jane served two terms as Chairman of Businesswomen’s Association and held an independent seat on the National Board after her tenure.  Her past board roles include AIESEC and Childline. She currently is :

  • vice-chairman of Exporters Eastern Cape
  • a board member of Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber
  • on the sustainability committee for St Francis Hospice.

Jane is a self-motivated, people-person with a thirst for business and excellence.

Born in Scotland, Jane immigrated at a young age with her family and has lived across South Africa, including Felixton, Umthatha, King William’s Town, East London (where she matriculated from Hudson Park High School), Port Elizabeth, Johannesburg and Cape Town.

An entrepreneur at heart, Jane started her working career in media with Daily Dispatch and thereafter was the youngest manager appointed to lead a regional team with Quest Staffing Solutions, where she enjoyed 10 years and was instrumental in initiating their Industrial branches in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

She was headhunted by Business Presentation Group to start an agency in Port Elizabeth, offering presentation skills and business strategy facilitation training.  Within a year, she was offered a partnership based on the success. 

Jane Stevenson and Associates grew from this partnership and focused more on business strategy and coaching.  In 2013 she was headhunted by Neil Hart at Boomtown Strategic Brand Agency to assist with change management and leading the growth of new business.

In 2015 she was headhunted by Glenn van Eck at Magnetic Storm, to take on a Strategic Director role, again focusing on strategic growth and restructure of the business.  In March 2018, together with her business partner Glenn van Eck, she started Magnetic Minds, a sister company to Magnetic Storm.  Offering individual and team coaching and strategy to assist individuals, teams and organistations to find their flow and improve performance.
